Chag Purim

"Whoever heard of chocolate hamentaschen?" Leila and I overheard after services last night.  We just looked at each other and rolled our eyes.
While I can't vouch for the shul's product, I can assure you, dear readers, that Leila's was first-rate.

  1. Those are by far the best. If someone tries to hand me one filled with that poppy seed garbage I will absolutely refuse to eat it. Leila - what chocolate did you put in there? My MIL puts in hershey's kisses in the middle, which I also enjoy and seem to fit my requirement of being "easy to make."

  2. This is filled with one teaspoon of nutella, straight from the jar. It worked like a dream. Recipe from the Shiksa in the Kitchen: http://theshiksa.com/2012/03/01/dairy-free-hamantaschen/. Hint: there might be one of these cookies making an appearance at book club tomorrow.
